Why it works
An object that does not know its climate risk cannot manage it.
Heat, heavy rain, drought and storms have very different effects depending on the location and type of building; a general assessment is not helpful here. The EU taxonomy now requires a location- and building-specific analysis for the protection goal of climate change adaptation, and no longer just a general explanation. Without this analysis, it remains unclear whether a significant climate risk actually exists, and it is precisely this assessment that determines whether further structural adaptation measures are necessary.
