The sustainable building assessment system, BNB, was initially developed in cooperation with the DGNB and is mandatory for new federal buildings of a certain volume.
Public clients below the federal level are also increasingly focusing on this because it is considered a recognized benchmark for sustainable construction in the public sector. If BNB is only integrated after planning has begun, early decisions that the system explicitly requires are often missing, for example when examining variants in early performance phases.
